BACKGROUND

The University of Miami’s Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is committed to offering more than 400 student-athletes the resources and programs needed to succeed, both on and off the field. Our employees at Hecht Athletic Center and Schwartz Center prioritizes our student-athlete academic and wellness.

At 30,000 square feet, the Schwartz Center is a multipurpose athletics facility that not only showcases our student athlete’s sports accomplishments and championship trophies but also serves as a student-athlete academic center and academic and compliance offices. Connected to the Schwartz Center, the Hecht Athletic Center features a state-of-the-art athletic training room, rehabilitation rooms, and a communications/marketing office suite.

UM proudly hosts sporting events at Hard Rock Stadium, the Watsco Center, Mark Light Field and many more throughout campus. However, our athletic staff, who work at these facilities, play an important role in making sure that our student-athletes succeed. SUMMARY

The Athletics Photographer reports to the Associate AD, Communications, and will assist the department to capture high-quality images of athletics events, student-athletes and related activities. The Athletics Photographer must have a strong understanding of intercollegiate sports and produce visual content that enhances the University of Miami and showcases our student-athletes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coverage of home and away athletic events
• Assisting with the planning and execution of promotional photo shoots
• Maintaining working archive of images with metadata, including captions, location information, relevant searchable keywords, etc.
• Providing non-game coverage of team-specific needs, including recruiting photo shoots, practices, team outings, etc.
• Providing coverage for various departments across Miami Athletics
• Providing stock imagery of facilities, fans, campus materials, as needed.
• Meeting with creative staff and sport information directors on photo usage for content and to meet creative goals.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Excellent computer, written, and oral communication skills
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and effectively balance multiple situations
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
• Adherence to University, Atlantic Coast Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations
• Flexible to various scheduling to include nights, weekends, and holidays

EDUCATION

• Must possess a bachelor's degree.
