DescriptionPrimary Duties & Responsibilities
System Design & Analysis:
- Lead the development of detailed thermal and mechanical models for new products using advanced simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, COMSOL, or equivalent).
- Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) and thermal simulations to predict performance, optimize designs, and ensure structural integrity under various operating conditions.
- Validate models through physical testing, correlate simulation data with experimental results, and refine models for improved accuracy.
Project Leadership:
- Serve as a technical authority and mentor for the design team, providing guidance on best practices in thermal/mechanical engineering.
- Manage project timelines and deliverables; coordinate cross-functional teams including R&D, manufacturing, and quality assurance.
- Review and approve design documentation, test plans, and verification protocols.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement:
- Research and integrate emerging technologies and methodologies to enhance design efficiency and reliability.
- Identify and implement design improvements to address performance, cost, and manufacturability targets.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing failure modes and developing corrective actions.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with product management, customers, and suppliers to define technical requirements and resolve complex design challenges.
- Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders through presentations and detailed reports.
- Support the development of technical specifications, regulatory submissions, and industry standard compliance documentation.
Education & Experience
- Minimum 9 yr. experience
- BS/MS in Mechanical Engineer or equivalent degree.
Skills
- Expertise in FEA, thermal analysis, and computational fluid dynamics (CFD).
- Strong problem-solving skills with an ability to analyze complex data and propose innovative solutions.
- Excellent project management and leadership abilities.
- Proficient in industry standards and regulatory requirements related to product safety and reliability.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with a demonstrated ability to interact with diverse teams and stakeholders.
