Skills

  • Minimum of six months of experience in GPS and construction field layout, particularly in heavy civil construction.
  • Proficient with Trimble survey equipment and software (Trimble Business Center, GPS base, and Rover).
  • Familiarity with heavy highway and survey practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to shifting project demands.
  • Experience with Heavy Civil Construction.
  • Previous experience with Bridges preferred.
  • Project Management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide construction layout data and machine control/survey models to support field production.
  • Create, manage, and maintain project layout data and machine control files.
  • Establish and maintain standardized GPS survey models for project operations.
  • Schedule and coordinate work with field operations.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures for GPS construction layout.
  • Perform calculations related to alignments, drainage, structures, and roadway modeling.
  • Conduct quality control checks on data and survey calculations.
  • Collaborate with field teams to guide the utilization of GPS construction data.
  • Address problems and adapt to changing project needs.
  • Perform job duties while upholding company values.
  • May lead or direct the work of others.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in GPS and construction field layout.
  • Extensive knowledge in heavy civil construction.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Additional certifications in surveying or related fields preferred.

Education Requirements Credential Category

  • Certification in surveying or related field is a plus.

Experience Requirements

  • At least six months of relevant experience in GPS and construction field layout, with a focus on heavy civil construction.
