Project Manager I (PM I)

Position Summary

MARS Energy Solutions is seeking a Project Manager I (PM I) to support the successful execution of solar projects from preconstruction through closeout. This is an operations-focused, primarily office-based role responsible for project coordination, documentation, and tracking to ensure projects remain organized, compliant, and on schedule.

The PM I partners closely with Senior Project Managers and cross-functional teams—including engineering, procurement, and field operations—to support efficient project delivery while maintaining visibility into project timelines, budgets, and key milestones.

MARS Energy Solutions is headquartered in Rocklin, CA. 
This role offers remote work flexibility for qualified candidates located within California or elsewhere in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Support the full project lifecycle from preconstruction through commissioning and closeout
  • Coordinate across engineering, procurement, and field teams to maintain project alignment
  • Maintain and update project schedules, budgets, and documentation (Procore, Smartsheet, Microsoft Office)
  • Lead and document weekly project meetings and track 3-week lookaheads
  • Track project milestones, deliverables, and compliance requirements
  • Support subcontractor coordination and prequalification efforts
  • Manage project documentation, permitting, and reporting requirements
  • Track and support accuracy of project-related AP/AR
  • Assist estimating and preconstruction teams with project setup and handoff
  • Support Senior Project Managers on larger or more complex projects

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in project coordination, construction, or renewable energy
  • Experience supporting projects through preconstruction and/or construction phases preferred
  • Strong organizational and document control skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communication across office and field teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Procore or similar systems preferred
  • Familiarity with construction workflows and project documentation
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable MVR

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Primarily office-based with periodic site visits
  • Ability to walk active job sites as needed
  • Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. 
  • Limited travel based on project needs- MUST have CLEAN MVR
