HYDAC, a global leader in fluid power solutions, is seeking a Technical Product Support Specialist to provide expert technical assistance to customers, distributors, and HYDAC personnel. This role is essential in ensuring the correct selection, sizing, pricing, and availability of HYDAC products while delivering outstanding customer support.

As a key technical resource, the Product Support Specialist will assist application engineers and field sales teams in addressing customer needs, gathering technical requirements, and ensuring smooth product integration. Success in this role requires strong problem-solving skills, effective communication, and initiative to support a wide range of customer projects.

Requirements

  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical product support to customers, distributors, and HYDAC personnel, ensuring optimal product selection and sizing.
  • Assist application engineers and field sales teams (distributors and outside sales) in delivering technical solutions.
  • Supply pricing and product availability details to customers and log quotes efficiently.
  • Collect and document the voice of the customer, providing insights to Product Management and Application Engineers.
  • Participate in customer meetings, gather parameters, and assist in sizing coolers and selecting the best solutions.
  • Develop and maintain customer project-related metrics to track performance and improvements.
  • Communicate frequently with internal teams, ensuring seamless collaboration on customer projects.
  • Take the initiative and make decisions to support customer needs while adhering to quality standards.
  • Perform additional duties as required to enhance product support.

Skills & Attributes:

  • Strong ability to read, write, and comprehend technical documentation at an above-average level.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to schedule tasks and coordinate cross-functional teams effectively.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting drawings, hydraulic/electronic schematics.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and quality processes, ensuring technical feasibility and compliance.
  • Proficient in various software platforms:
    • Spreadsheet and word processing tools
    • Database management systems
    • Internet-based technical resources
    • Project management software
    • Proprietary sizing software tools
  • Ability to travel up to 10%, including overnight stays and trade shows as required.

Experience & Education:

  • Associate degree in applied sciences or minimum of five years of relevant technical experience within HYDAC or a similar organization.
  • Demonstrated expertise in technical product support, fluid power solutions, and customer engagement.
