Position Summary The Quality Inspector 2 inspects a range of components, parts and/or products for the area assigned as prescribed by all applicable specifications and quality assurance instructions.
Core Responsibilities
Conducts examinations and quality control inspections on products, materials and components at various stages of the production process to ensure compliance with established quality and reliability standards.
Participates in gathering statistical data from product and processes.
Performs visual inspections of soldered connections, mechanical inspections of electronic and electro- mechanical assemblies and subassemblies.
Visual inspections of soldered assemblies to IPC-A-610 Class 3 standards, and harness assemblies.
• Prepares and completes all necessary documentation for reporting acceptance/rejection of inspected and/or tested items.
Identifies design, process or other inefficiencies and reports quality concerns and issues
Performs routine quality inspections on engineering designs, assemblies, piece parts, final assemblies and tooling.
Read, write and understand English.
Read technical drawings with multiple views.
Locate and utilize correct part, assembly, and material specifications or drawings.
Use tolerances and dimensions to required accuracy and precision.
Prepare certifications in accordance with appropriate regulation.
Filing of both hard copy and electronic records.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary.
Physical Requirements
Approximately 90% sitting and 10% standing/walking indoors.
Perform continuous uninterrupted visual inspections, with and without magnifying devices.
Use hand tools, measuring devices, and magnifying devices (e.g. gauges, calipers, rulers.).
Perform major hand grasping and fine finger manipulations using both hands.
Perform repeated lifting from floor, table and shelf.
Push and pull carts or mobile tables, loaded and unloaded.
Minimal heavy lifting from floor or higher, bending, twisting, climbing, lifting arms above shoulders, kneeling.
Must have a visual acuity of 20/25 in at least one eye, either correct or uncorrected.
Job Specifications Education: A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations. Certifications: Vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related field Experience: 2 - 5 years of relevant experience (Aerospace and Electronics environments preferred)
Skills:
Ability to follow established job instructions and procedures with minimal supervision
Able to apply a systematic QA approach while using existing procedures to solve a range of technical issues.
Skilled at measuring and using test equipment as prescribed by job assignment.
Must have intricate knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, assembly drawings, parts lists, workmanship standards, standard inspection procedures, M.O.’s, wiring diagrams and be able to add tolerances using decimals, etc.
Must be able to interpret and follow written and verbal instructions, including engineering drawings, charts, diagrams, and sketches.
