Performs a variety of technical and professional surveying tasks of moderate to high degree of difficulty. This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Under general supervision, this job class is expected to exercise judgment within established guidelines in the disposition of daily activities.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or GED and seven (7) years of full-time professional level field engineering, surveying, or closely related work; or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Eye-hand coordination is necessary to operate computers and various pieces of office equipment. The employee is required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, perceive the full range of color spectrum; peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in outside-weather conditions. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to hot, cold, wet and/or humid conditions, or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in the office and moderate to loud in the field.
