KNBN Newscenter1, the NBC station in Rapid City, SD, provides quality broadcasting to all of western South Dakota, and portions of northeastern Wyoming and southeastern Montana. Beyond the scenic views, the region offers some of the nation’s largest free-ranging bison herds, endless hiking and ATV trails, and year-round adventure with skiing, snowmobiling, and snowshoeing in the winter months.  

 

Position Summary
Are you a creative visual storyteller who thrives behind the camera and lives for the editing process? We’re looking for a Videographer / Multimedia Content Producer who can bring ideas to life through compelling video, engaging promotions, and memorable advertising campaigns. In this role, you’ll collaborate with both local businesses and internal teams to produce high-quality commercials, station promotions, and digital content that captures attention and delivers results. From concept to final edit, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping how our brand and our clients connect with audiences across broadcast and digital platforms.


What You’ll Do

  • Plan, shoot, and produce high-quality video content for commercials, station promotions, and sponsored content that stands out - on-air and online.
  • Collaborate directly with clients and sales teams to develop creative advertising concepts and production schedules that align with brand and client goals.
  • Produce promotional content in partnership with the newsroom, supporting sweeps campaigns and year-round station marketing initiatives.
  • Develop engaging motion graphics and visual effects to enhance video storytelling.
  • Manage all aspects of filming including lighting, sound, framing, and camera operation to ensure optimal quality.
  • Edit raw footage to create polished final products that are engaging, informative, and visually compelling.
  • Design eye-catching graphics and social media content for Facebook and other digital platforms.
  • Capture professional photography images and manage the post-production editing process.
  • Maintain organized media libraries and manage commercial assets, ensure timely delivery of content across multiple channels.

Qualifications

  • One to three years of video production, editing, or creative services experience strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, and/or Adobe After Effects.
  • Strong knowledge of videography techniques including filming, lighting, sound recording, and camera operation.
  • Expertise in post-production processes, including color correction, sound editing, motion graphics, and visual effects.
  • Skilled in photography with experience using Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop (or similar) for image editing.
  • Familiarity with the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) for creating graphics and visual assets.
  • Ability to organize and manage concurrent projects, maintaining high production quality in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders. This role is ideal for passionate visual storytellers who are eager to make an impact through innovative multimedia content!

Expected compensation for this role is between $18 and $22/hour, based on qualifications and experience.
