Responsibilities:
  • Operate and maintain flame/thermal spray equipment (Plasma, HVOF, Twin Wire Arc).
  • Perform all stages of the coating process: masking, grit blasting, spray setup, spraying, and unmasking.
  • Follow precise production instructions and adhere to quality and scheduling standards.
  • Conduct in-process and final inspections using precision measurement tools.
  • Troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance on thermal spray equipment.
  • Adhere to strict safety protocols, including proper use of PPE and chemical handling procedures.
  • Maintain detailed records and uphold confidentiality and compliance standards.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 1 year of direct experience in thermal spray coating processes.
  • Successful completion of both a written and hands-on practical spray test.
  • Proficient in using various types of measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers).
  • High attention to detail and ability to follow detailed work instructions.
  • Experience working in Nadcap-accredited thermal spray environments.
  • Background in aerospace, space, defense, or other high-spec industrial sectors.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting coating equipment.
  • Commitment to teamwork, clear communication, and continuous improvement.
  • Awareness of safety and environmental regulations related to coating materials.
  • Must be able to stand, bend, twist, reach overhead, walk on uneven surfaces, and climb stairs regularly.
  • Capable of lifting and handling 25-50 pounds frequently.
  • Ability to wear a respirator and pass required pulmonary function tests.
  • Visual and hearing acuity necessary to perform inspections and respond to environmental alerts.
  • Must be prepared to work in a shop floor environment, including exposure to heat, noise, and chemical substances while wearing required PPE (safety glasses, respirator, safety-toe footwear, etc.).

Pay: $20-28/hr depending on experience
