Are you someone who enjoys hands-on work, precision, and operating advanced manufacturing equipment? As a 3rd Shift Thermal Spray Booth Operator, you'll play a critical role in producing high-quality coated components by operating thermal spray equipment. This position requires attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to follow detailed production and quality standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Follow all production instructions, quality standards, company policies, and safety procedures.
  • Set up, operate, and monitor thermal spray equipment, including HVOF, APS, Cascade, Cold Spray, and other spray systems.
  • Load and unload customer parts while ensuring proper handling throughout the coating process.
  • Start, monitor, and safely shut down assigned spray booths.
  • Maintain proper spray patterns, monitor flame characteristics, and perform routine spray gun maintenance.
  • Prepare and load the correct powder materials for base, flash, and top coats in accordance with company procedures.
  • Adjust spray parameters based on work instructions and process requirements.
  • Complete production documentation accurately and support Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to ensure customer specifications are consistently met.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Assist with other production-related duties and special projects as assigned.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to maintaining efficient production operations.

Qualifications & Skills

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Knowledge of thermal spray processes and coating techniques (preferred).
  • Ability to read and interpret production travelers, technical instructions, and engineering drawings.
  • Experience using measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, scales, and other precision measuring tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Basic math skills and the ability to work with standard units of measurement.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A commitment to workplace safety and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to frequently stand for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Ability to bend, twist, stoop, climb, reach, and perform repetitive motions.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work safely around industrial equipment in a manufacturing environment.
  • Regular, reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.

Working Environment

This position is performed indoors in a manufacturing facility that is not climate controlled. Employees are required to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow all established safety procedures.
