Weโ€™re looking for a Solar Lease Buyer to join our team in the Southeastern U.S.โ€”a key role in our solar development process focused on securing leases for utility-scale solar projects.
Please note: This position requires travel by plane or rental car to project areas in AL, FL, GA, LA, MS, TN, VA, every other week. Travel schedules will vary based on workload. All travel expenses are covered by Client (no per diem).

Job Description
As a Solar Lease Buyer, your primary responsibility will be contacting landowners to negotiate and secure solar lease agreements. You will work closely with project managers and other team members to ensure the successful execution of agreements while maintaining professional relationships with landowners.

This role is ideal for someone with a proven track record in negotiation, strong interpersonal skills, and a deep understanding of land acquisition processes for renewable energy projects.

Compensation: Competitive, based on experience
Location: Remote, with frequent travel within the Midwest and Southeastern U.S.

Responsibilities

    • Initiate contact with landowners to discuss and negotiate solar lease agreements
    • Address landowner questions and explain project goals and lease terms clearly
    • Build and maintain positive relationships with landowners throughout the leasing process
    • Track agreement progress using internal systems and ensure accuracy in documentation
    • Collaborate with project managers and leadership to adjust strategies and hit milestones
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and company standards

Preferred Qualifications

    • Minimum 2 years of experience in land acquisition, real estate, or energy development
    • OR 1+ years of solar leasing experience
    • OR 4+ years of real estate experience
    • Proven ability to negotiate and close agreements in a timely, professional manner
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport quickly
    • Highly organized and detail-oriented, especially when juggling multiple agreements
    • Experience with CRM systems or project tracking tools is a plus
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) or Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs)
