This position offers an opportunity to move beyond traditional installation work and develop specialized skills in electrical troubleshooting, solar PV diagnostics, battery storage, and monitoring technology.

You'll work independently and alongside experienced technicians to diagnose and repair residential and commercial solar systems, solve challenging technical problems, and help customers keep their systems operating safely and reliably.

We're looking for someone with a strong technical foundation, curiosity, and a desire to learn. You don't need to be an expert in solar service to get started.

  • Basic electrical knowledge, mechanical aptitude, and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable using electrical tools, computers, and digital technology.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to pass background and motor vehicle checks.
  • Basic set of electrical hand tools.

Preferred — Not Required

  • 1–3 years of solar installation or electrical trade experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical systems or solar equipment.
  • Familiarity with NEC, solar inverters, or monitoring platforms.
  • Electrical journeyman license, NABCEP certification, or progress toward licensure.

We encourage candidates with a solid electrical foundation and a willingness to learn to apply, even if they don't meet every preferred qualification.

Professional Growth

Solar service offers an opportunity to advance beyond installation into a highly technical and rewarding field.

At Positive Energy Solar, you'll gain exposure to a wide range of solar technologies, electrical systems, advanced diagnostics, and manufacturer-specific equipment, with opportunities to develop into a senior technician or technical leadership role.
