What impact you’ll make (Job Description Summary):
The Hot Gas Path (HGP) Thermal Principal Engineer serves as a recognized subject matter expert and provides advanced technical leadership to the Engineering team. This role is responsible for driving engineering excellence across all center line engine frames within our heavy duty and aeroderivative gas and steam platforms. You will lead and drive technical rigor in addressing complex thermal projects and mentor next generation engineers. The Principal Engineer collaborates cross-functionally to drive risk management while fostering innovative thermal solutions to meet business and customer solutions.

Job Description

What you’ll do (Key Responsibilities):

  • Own crucial projects for the success of the Aero, Thermal & Clearances Team and for Gas Turbine Engineering as a whole
  • Act as a technical resource and subject matter expert for all center line engine products across heavy duty & aeroderivative gas and steam turbine platforms, providing global guidance to project teams and stakeholders
  • Drive Technical rigor to develop safe, high-quality products while being actively Engaged during design process
  • Lead end-to-end design, analysis, and implementation of engineering solutions for moderate-to-high complexity projects
  • Serve as a single point authoritative technical contact in HGP thermal design throughout the business including suppliers, sub-suppliers and field support
  • Maintain an active role in developing and defining the state of the art in thermal engineering in order to anticipate, apply, adapt or develop technologies for introduction
  • Develop breadth by interfacing directly with adjacent functional teams to drive system level problem resolution across disciplines, identifying risks & mitigations
  • Mentor and coach next generation engineers; facilitate knowledge sharing across teams
  • Lead the development of technical standards, best practices, design practices and process improvements
  • Identify and implement process improvements thru Lean and Artificial Intelligence to improve safety, quality and cost of products

What you’ll bring (Qualifications):

  • This role requires minimum 8+ years of experience in Engineering/Technology or Services Engineering.
  • Demonstrated expertise in subject matter area.
  • This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government export restrictions and this posting is only for U.S. Persons (U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents and protected individuals (e.g., certain refugees and asylees)). GE Vernova will require proof of status prior to employment.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $131,700.00 and $219,300.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

 

 

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
