GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: The photographer is responsible for all photos taken during daily lifestyle furniture shoots done by the studio team at Mathis Home.  The photographer will also be responsible for the entire editing process and delivery of photo assets to internal customers.  In addition to daily lifestyle furniture shoots, the photographer will occasionally shoot portraits of employees, exterior and interior photographs of Mathis Home owned locations and cover any events hosted or sponsored by Mathis Home.  The photographer will report to the studio manger and work closely with the video team, studio decorator, and graphic designers to fulfill the vision of the department.  This role requires a creative individual with a strong background in photography and a solid grasp of principles of photography, lighting and composition.  Knowledge of digital cameras, lenses, and photo editing software is also required.  This role requires being reliable, responsible, and organized. Time management, organization, and self-motivation are critical for success. It is strongly suggested potential applicants submit a portfolio for review.

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED: The photographer will work closely with the set decorator and video team to photograph lifestyle room settings in the onsite Mathis Home studio at the studio manager’s direction.  It is the photographer’s responsibility ensure quality and consistency in every step of the process.  This includes shooting, editing, color correction, photo manipulation and uploading all selected images to a central server in a timely and efficient manner.  The photographer will also help the video team on video shoots when necessary.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS: Position specific abilities include: An exceptional understanding of lighting, composition and general principles of photography.  Thorough technical knowledge of digital cameras, and lenses is also necessary.  Must be experienced editing with Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. General abilities include:  Being able to communicate effectively and have a positive attitude with team members.  Must be reliable, responsible, dependable and organized.  It is important to have exceptional time management skills. Must be at least 21 years of age with a valid Driver’s License with no more than 2 moving violations and 1 chargeable accident within the last three years.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIREMENTS: To successfully perform the essential functions of the job, an employee must be able to perform the following: Stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, climbing, crawling, walking, pulling, lifting, talking, typing, hearing/listening and repetitive motion.

Heavy Work: Lifting up to 50 lbs rarely, and/or up to 20 lbs frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs constantly to move objects.
Work Environment: Indoor, climate-controlled environment.
