Reporting to the Chief Mine Engineer, the Mine Surveyor is responsible for conducting surveys, analyzing data, and supporting mine production for the Technical Services Department.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Proficient in operating surveying equipment including RTK/PPK GPS units, Trimble Business Center, terrestrial laser scanners, total stations, and UAVs.

· Prepare and submit daily data reports for blast hole designs and bench development.

· Manage and update site Master Survey Control data and base stations.

· Develop digital machine control models for heavy equipment.

· Collaborate with the Geotechnical Team to monitor subsidence in highwalls, working faces, and the tailings storage facility using radar, total stations, GPS, and InSAR technology.

· Compile and analyze data for tonnage reconciliation reports.

· Execute surveying projects for mill facilities and ancillary construction activities.

· Perform ore control staking as directed by Mine Geology.

· Produce daily, weekly, and monthly progress survey reports for tracking and reconciliation.

· Conduct field staking and maintain records for claim boundaries, authorized disturbance limits, and private/public land boundaries.

· Ensure accuracy and quality of survey data, maps, reports, and survey records.

· Monitor mining activities and align survey tasks with the engineered mine plan.

· Verify that third-party contract work adheres to site survey control standards.

· Perform pit design compliance checks and report findings to Mine Engineering.

· Maintain inventory and order consumables required for fieldwork.

· Perform equipment maintenance and ensure all survey hardware/software is up to date.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

· Strong verbal and written communication skills.

· Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail.

· Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities.

· Skilled in task prioritization and time management.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related software.

· Minimum of 2 years’ surveying experience, preferably in an open-pit mining environment.

· Possess a valid FAA Part 107 sUAS UAV License or have the ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.

· Intermediate knowledge of surface and volumetric calculation methods and procedures.

· Intermediate proficiency with mining software such as Maptek/Vulcan and Hexagon/Minesight3D.

· Advanced proficiency with surveying CAD software including Trimble Business Center, Autodesk, and Trimble SCS900.

· Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and generate stakeout files for field crews.

· Understanding of drill–blast–load–haul open-pit mining sequences.

· In-depth knowledge of open-pit mine surveying theories, practices, tools, and technologies.

· Valid Arizona Driver’s License.

· Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and comprehending English.

· Commitment to safety and equipment maintenance.

Work Environment:

· 70% of the Surveyor’s time will be spent in the field while 30% of the remaining time will be spent on data analysis and working with the Tech Services Team.
