Field Training & Support Engineer – Counter-UAS Technology
Great Bay Staffing GroupJob Description:
$140,000–$160,000 + Top Benefits
McLean, VA (In-Office)
The Opportunity
This role puts you at the center of a growing counter-drone technology company, owning the technical relationship between engineering and the field. You'll be the primary product expert on RF-based C-UAS hardware and software, and the person both customers and internal engineering teams turn to when it matters most. If you want a role where your technical judgment directly shapes how mission-critical systems perform in the field, this is built for that.
Why You'll Love This Role
You'll go deep on RF-based counter-UAS systems, not just support them from a distance. You'll lead training curriculum development, own the technical relationship with external service partners, and serve as the escalation point for the hardest issues in the field. This isn't a scripted support role. You'll be trusted to manage partner performance, validate technical documentation, and represent the field's reality back to the engineering team.
What Your Week Looks Like
- Leading in-person or virtual training sessions on C-UAS hardware and software
- Working directly with third-party service partners to evaluate and elevate their technical performance
- Serving as Tier 2 support escalation, diagnosing and resolving complex system issues
- Supporting on-site surveys, installations, and RF configuration for specific environments
- Writing and refining technical manuals, Statements of Work, and best-practice guides
- Rotating through support coverage, including occasional nights and weekends
What We're Looking For
- 5-7 years in Field Engineering, Technical Training, or Professional Services within a high-tech hardware/software environment
- Deep technical knowledge of RF systems and Counter-UAS (C-UAS) technology
- Demonstrated experience managing and scaling third-party service providers or channel partners
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related technical field
- FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate highly preferred
- Able to lift and move field equipment up to 50 lbs
- Willing to travel domestically and occasionally internationally (50-75%, based on training schedule)
Why Candidates Say Yes
- Deep technical ownership of a cutting-edge RF/C-UAS product line
- Direct influence bridging field engineering and product development
- Leadership over partner training standards and technical quality
- Work with direct national security and public safety impact
