Lonestar Electric Supply is seeking a skilled and reliable Rental and Repair Technician to support the maintenance, repair, transportation, and delivery of rental equipment and tools. Β This position will primarily focus on inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing scissor lifts and other rental equipment. The ideal candidate is committed to providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a safe work environment, and supporting the operational needs of the rental department.


Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on rental equipment and tools involving mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Diagnose equipment issues and complete repairs in a safe, timely, and efficient manner.
  • Transport rental equipment, tools, and materials to and from customer job sites and company locations while safely operating company vehicles.
  • Load, secure, unload, and inspect rental equipment during deliveries and pickups to ensure safe transportation and proper operation.
  • Provide professional customer service during equipment deliveries, pickups, and service calls.
  • Maintain complete and accurate work orders and electronic documentation of all maintenance, repairs, deliveries, and pickups.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized shop and work environment.
  • Ensure repair and preventive maintenance schedules are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures while operating equipment, performing repairs, and driving company vehicles.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record and the ability to safely operate company vehicles.
  • 1–2 years of experience repairing and maintaining vehicles, equipment, or similar machinery, or completion of a trade school program.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Strong customer service, teamwork, and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly works around moving mechanical parts and in warehouse conditions that are not always climate controlled and may include heat and humidity.
  • Noise level may be loud at times.
  • Must be able to safely lift, move, load, and unload rental equipment and tools.
  • Must be able to move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue.
  • Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina.
