The Role: | |||
| The Destination Development - Meetings & Conventions Manager develops and implements tourism-generating programs to promote Glendale as a premier conference, events and tourism destination and generates bed tax, retail and restaurant sales tax revenues. Manages sales strategies and programs; represents the City at local, regional, national and international tourism sales meetings, conferences and trade shows; works with representatives from the City, and hospitality industry; generates regular and special reports as requested. | |||

| This position participates in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS). Contribution is mandatory, and the current contribution rate is 12.00%. | |||
Three years of experience in tourism and hospitality or travel industry sales, and a bachelor's degree in tourism, business administration, marketing, or related field.
Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. One year of relevant experience may be substituted for each year of required education.
Knowledge of:
Work involves travel statewide, nationally and internationally, setting up displays and attending trade shows. Enters, exits, and operates city vehicles.
