A Non-Merit vacancy exists in the Department of Economic and Workforce Development for the position of Chief of Destination Marketing and Communications.
Non-Merit positions are not classified within the Baltimore County Government Classification and Compensation Plan.Job Purpose
Reporting to the Deputy Director, the Chief of Destination Marketing and Communications is responsible for promoting tourism development and leading destination initiatives and campaigns for the Department of Economic and Workforce Development, in accordance with the strategic plans for the County and the Department. The role requires marketing, public relations, and management skills.

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field.

At least five years of experience in the tourism or hospitality industry preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Physical and Environmental Conditions
The work of this classification entails frequent walking, standing, and other limited physical activities.
