What You Will Do
Under minimal direction, designs, develops, and tests a variety of power plants, aircraft, systems, and/or parts.
Performs system / component level analyses of test results and uses the results to prepare technical reports of findings and recommendations.
Execute low to medium complexity thermal analysis via 2D and 3D finite element analysis (FEA) and/or low to medium complexity CFD analysis, using the latest P&W Engineering Standard Work, analytical tools, and engineering judgement.
With minimal direction, creates and implements common procedures and standard work across the organization.
Communicate technical results to internal and external customers.
Able to manage small projects or processes.
Coaches and reviews the work of lower-level professionals.
Positively influences others regarding policies, practices, and procedures.
Attend and have participation in group meetings, teleconferences and/or training required.
Actively participate in initiatives for continuous improvement using CORE tools and support AS9100 efforts. Become a CORE Apprentice.
Support project management activities.
Based on business needs, the incumbent may be required to support other duties/functions within the company.
Travel is up to 10%.
English (read, write, speak) is required when communicating with customers, co-workers, or supervisors who only speak English.
Aerothermal Fluids Engineering: Designs, develops, and tests power plants, aircraft, and parts, formulates conceptual design of certain products, and develops advanced models. Performs system level analyses and prepares technical reports.
Use of different in house and commercially available tools to support the design, development, assessment of engine parts per aerodynamics requirements.
Agile methodology for project managing tasks.
Qualifications You Must Have
Bachelor Degree in Engineering
2 years of engineering experience or an Advanced Degree in Engineering with a GPA of 3.0 or higher
Qualifications We Prefer
Bachelor Degree in Mechanical or Areospace Engineering
Experience with CAD and ANSYS to perform Finite Element Analysis for Thermal Analysis, engine datamatching, component lifing.
Experience with FLUENT, or similar tool, for CFD analysis and Ensight for post-processing
Experience with Microsoft Office applications
Communication, interpersonal, time management and organizational skills
Team oriented and cultural awareness
Experience mentoring and coaching entry-level engineers
Innovative and continuous improvement oriented
Experience with programming tools (PYTHON, Microsoft Office Macros, ANSYS Macros, MATLAB) is a plus
