Job Summary:
The Aerial Groundman supports aerial linemen and crew members in the installation, maintenance, and repair of overhead telecommunications systems. This entry-level role is responsible for ground operations, material handling, and ensuring a safe and efficient job site while assisting with aerial construction activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist aerial linemen with the installation of fiber optic and coaxial cables.
- Load, unload, and organize materials, tools, and equipment at job sites.
- Set up and maintain a safe work zone, including traffic control when required.
- Operate hand tools and assist with basic construction tasks.
- Handle cable placement from the ground and support lashing operations.
- Maintain communication with crew members during lifts and aerial work.
- Clean and prepare job sites before, during, and after construction.
- Perform routine equipment checks and report any issues.
- Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and industry standards.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Prior construction or outdoor labor experience is a plus.
- Willingness to learn telecommunications construction practices.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Valid driverβs license preferred.
